I have the Money on the Dead CD in my hands. As of my last post about Money on the Dead, the CD was on its way to be manufactured. Just yesterday copies of the disc arrived at Catherine North.
Recording sessions often develop in-jokes and session specific vocabulary. During the Showroom recordings back in 2004, Rory and I developed special meaning for the words “goose” and “gander” — perhaps I’ll share more details about the “goose” and the “gander” in a future post. While recording Money on the Dead, I became “Michael P. Chambers.” In fact, in almost all my correspondence with the band that is how I am known. I think I still prefer my real middle initial (“W”), but I’m happy to give “P” a chance.
In addition to recording the album, I also had the opportunity to lay down some keys (and glockenspiel, you can hear my glock playing here).
